Silicone Seal FAQ

Seal performance depends on the gland design, compression and material. We can mold seals designed for IP-rated waterproofing and work with you on the gland geometry to hit your target rating.
A static seal sits between two non-moving surfaces, while a dynamic seal works against a moving part such as a rotating shaft. Dynamic seals need lower friction compounds and tighter dimensional control, which we accommodate during DFM.
Most seals use Shore 40A–70A. Softer grades conform better to irregular surfaces, while firmer grades hold shape under higher pressure. We recommend a hardness based on your compression set and sealing environment.
Yes. We mold platinum-cured medical-grade silicone seals tested for FDA 21 CFR, LFGB, RoHS and REACH compliance, suitable for healthcare and pharmaceutical applications.
